Par un bel après-midi de visite du Musée d’Art Contemporain (MAC) de Montréal, la quiétude ambiante de l’endroit fut bousculée par des rythmes 
effrénés en provenance de la scène principale des FrancoFolies de Montréal, installée tout à côté de l’édifice culturel.
La voix du chanteur porté sur l’ensemble du quartier. Les mélodies ressemblaient à celle d’un chanteur québécois populaire. Les Franco ne commençaient que dans 24h00, et pourtant la musique et les chants étaient bien réels. Après une sortie précipitée du MAC et une courte vérification, il s’agissait bien de Daniel Boucher qui se trémoussé avec sa guitare sur scène.

Les FrancoFolies tirent leurs racines du pays de Molière, avec une première édition en 1984 à La Rochelle. Cinq ans plus tard, Jean-Louis Foulquier, fondateur des Francofolies de La Rochelle, Alain Simard, fondateur du Festival 
International de Jazz de Montréal et le producteur québécois Guy Latraverse font traverser l’Atlantique aux Francofolies pour atterrir à Montréal.
Cette année, les Franco de Montréal se tiennent du 26 juillet au 5 août un peu partout sur la ville, avec une alternance de concert payant et gratuits. L’ouverture de l’édition 2007 se fera avec La Grande Fête culturelle de Daniel Boucher, qui regroupe sur scène Lynda Thalie, H’Sao, Taima, Marco Calliari et le Roberto López Project.
