Vous ne les verrez pas souvent à l’écran de TVA, TQS ou Radio Canada, car ils ne font pas partie du “Top50″ de la musique québécoise. Ils se font discrets depuis toutes ces années. Pour preuve, Dégénérations est sortie il y a deux ans. Comme dit une amie de Coudu : “Mes Aïeux sont allés chercher leur fan un à un, concert après concert”.
Touche à tout, Mes Aïeux est un groupe difficile à classer. Pour certains il s’agit de “funklore”. Les influences du folklore québécois sont indéniables. Les textes de leurs chansons ont une résonance très contemporaine, avec une envie de retour aux sources. On relève une certaine mélancolie, teintée d’antimondialisme. Leur succès récent, avec la chanson “Dégénération”, reflète peut-être un certain mal de vivre de la jeunesse de la province. Ce n’est définitivement pas évident de les ranger dans un tiroir donné, et c’est peut-être ce qui fait tout leur charme.
Un bon conseil, si vous souhaitez faire un beau cadeau d’après Noël, courrez acheter le CD-DVD de Mes Aïeux. Les images de leur dernière tournée sont de toute beauté. Plus qu’un concert, c’est un spectacle en costume d’époque que nous offre cette belle gang de saltimbanques.

Tout à fait! Mes Aïeux c’est discret mais ça refait pas mal surface chez les jeunes je trouve.
Finalement, ce sont les médias qui sont trop discrets sur ce groupe. Un voeu pour cette nouvelle année: un peu moins de Céline et un peu plus d’éclectisme sur les ondes québécoises.
Je suis française et j’ai découvert Mes Aïeux en écoutant la radio québécoise sur le net et une amie québécoise m’a conseillé aussi de les écouter. Ils sont vraiment bons. J’adore! Il faut absolument que je trouve leur CD en France!
Audrey, tu peux trouver des albums de Mes Aieux sur le site de la FNAC. Par contre, il n’ont pas le dernier DVD.
